Thai Ryoori

Last Friday we had emergency transfers because Tokyo and Sendai missions were closed. 43 or so missionaries came from Tokyo mission to ours. We dont know how long they will be there, but we are treating it as if it will be awhile. Elder McClain transfered out of Tsu and my new companion is from Tokyo mission! His name is Chumwangwapee (longer than my mtc companions name. Kekauoha)  from Thailand wooooo! We call him Elder Chumu. He is on his second transfer which makes me his mom(follow-up trainer). His trainer was Elder Wilmore who was in the same class as me in the MTC. Usually missionaries from Tailand go to the Philippines MTC to study, but since he is learning Japanese he got to go to Provo. He was the only Thai person there. Not only that, but he didnt speak any English or Japanese! His MTC companions kind of had to teach him. Right now we do fine with communication. Lucky him coming to an area with lots of Philippinos so he can learn to speak/teach in Japanese AND English. He is a nice kid who reminds me a lot of my trainer, Elder Katanuma. He also cooks amazing Thai food!

On Friday I went to Nagoya to pick up my new companion and I met all of the Tokyo missionaries. Probably your friends son. What is his name? Elder Da Silva(who went to my high school) went home early because of all of this as did some of my other friends. But i guess it has to happen.

This week, starting tomorrow, we have another 3 day leadership training. It will be the same as the last one except the Tokyo missionaries will be there to learn some stuff that we do. It should be good.

Yesterday we walked to church with an inactive girl named Marina. She is really nice, but super shy. More shy than me. It was cool that she came to church though. Also, a less-active woman brought her boyfriend and we will start teaching him next week! After church we had a shokujikai. Which is basically a pot-luck lunch. That was fun.

Towards the evening, one of the members took us around in his car to visit investigators and inactive members. One of those inactives is really crazy. He must read too much manga or something because he thinks he is a prophet, claims he knows all of the secrets to killing satan, and told us that at the next world cup there is going to be a new virus that breaks loose and kills half of the world. Hes interesting.
The Philippinos have been giving us a lot of food lately. Last night they cooked us some really good chicken in coconut milk. We might have an international food cooking party someday.

I will let you know how the training goes next week. Tell everyone Im safe and havent felt an earthquake for about a week now.
